Notaires have an important and prestigious position in French society. More like British solicitors than American notaries public, they deal with personal legal issues, such as inheritances, and also serve as real estate agents. The organisation of this group of signs outside a local village seems inopportune at best.

My wife's "petit cousin",in Toulouse(a son of a first cousin) is a notaire. It is a prestigeous line of work. Deny's office is on the Place du Capitol. I guess a contractual lawyer would be the closest thing to it,here in the States.

That's hilarious. Originally, I thought your post would be about the increase in availability of public toilets. The WC does get top billing, poor notaire.

frankly, you need to go to the WC more often than to the notaire
