I love those old French road signs in blue and white ~ are they for hamlets rather than villages? Or am I making it up as I go along?

Ah ha, that makes me think of our Paris friends that come down and say "oh, that is such a cute village, blah-blah" without pronouncing the final c. We gots lots them 'ac villages down here in the LanguedoC. A chance for us to snicker at them rather than the reverse, which is usually the case.

Papadesdeux -- I never even imagined that could be possible! But I can understand why some people are confounded by the pronunciation of Rodez (with the final Z pronounced, and to be really Occitan sounding some pronounce it more like an s....)

Le laquet -- yes, the blue signs are for hamlets rather than official villages. Sorry I didn't answer your question sooner!
